About

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with over seven years of experience working with children, teens, and parents. "Enter into children's play and you will find the place where their minds, hearts, and souls meet." -Virginia Axline. I specialize in Child-Centered Play Therapy, a developmentally appropriate treatment modality for children that utilizes their natural mode of communication, play. I also utilize Expressive Arts, Family Systems, Strength-Based, and CBT.
I work primarily with children, teens, and young adults experiencing stress and anxiety, executive functioning deficits, identity confusion, mood disorders, grief and loss, and life adjustment challenges (i.e. separation/divorce). By providing a safe, non-judgmental environment, clients can effectively express, explore, and process their thoughts, feelings, and experiences. I believe every client is equipped with a unique set of strengths and skills that can help them overcome adversity. By helping clients rework negative perceptions of events in their lives or of themselves, clients can move to a more regulated state.

Clinical Psychologist

About

I am a Clinical Psychologist and trauma specialist with expertise in intimate betrayal and infidelity. I help women heal from the devastating aftermath of sexual betrayal, infidelity, and other forms of intimate partner betrayal. I am a Certified Sex Therapist (CST), Certified Clinical Partners Specialist (CCPS), and Certified Sexual and Relational Trauma Therapist (CSRTT).

My clients are often facing the painful aftermath of infidelity and trying to pick up the pieces of their life. You may feel overwhelmed with emotions, struggle with obsessive thoughts, have physical symptoms of stress, and may feel completely alone and unsure what to do next. I can help you alleviate your trauma symptoms, manage triggers, learn strategies to work through the pain, silence the inner voice telling you that you're not good enough and achieve a state of calmness again.

I use trauma-informed empirically based techniques for effective and lasting change. I also incorporate mindfulness strategies for mind-body re-connection to heal the physical symptoms of trauma.

I am incredibly passionate about my work and believe that each person is worthy and deserving of healing. I believe a collaborative approach to therapy works best. I would love to hear your story and help you reach your therapeutic goals.

About

Are you feeling stuck, overwhelmed, anxious, and unsure of yourself? Are you trying to gain your footing after a recent life transition? Are you curious about how your past is influencing your present? Is your inner critic in overdrive during this season of life, telling you to "just get over it and be happy?" This is where I come in! You don't have to do this alone.

Hi! I'm Laura, and I'd be absolutely honored to join you on your journey, serving as your guide (albeit fellow imperfect human being) and confidant. It is my goal to help you feel koselig with yourself, amidst the difficulties of life. Koselig is a Norwegian term used to describe an all-encompassing sense of comfort one experiences when they feel “at home”.

Whether you are coping with a difficult life transition, like pregnancy or postpartum, graduating college, questioning your faith, moving, or switching careers, chances are that anxiety is showing up in your life like never before. You deserve space to slow down and get more in touch with your emotions and needs, enabling you to feel koselig with yourself.

Interested in learning more? Email me to schedule a complimentary 20 minute phone call to get to know each other a little and to see if it seems like we would be a good fit before scheduling an initial session. I offer both in person and virtual sessions and am located near Wash Park in Denver, CO.

My goal for you is to find a therapist that you feel safe + known with, and if I’m not the best fit for you, I have a list of incredible referrals I would love to provide you with.
